Coconut oil, or copra oil, is an edible oil extracted from the kernel of mature coconuts harvested from the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). It has various applications. Because of its high saturated fat content, it is slow to oxidize and, thus, resistant to rancidification, lasting up to six months at 24 °C (75 °F) without spoiling
Coconut oil is often described as the “healthiest oil on earth.” It has been used throughout Asia and the Pacific for thousands of years as both a food and medicine. Coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids that stimulate metabolism, provide more energy, and has a good quantity of caprylic acid in it which is well known to kill off excess candida by targeting harmful bacteria. It is also rich in lauric acid which protects our heart by reducing total cholesterol and increasing good cholesterol which also supports the body’s immune system.
