- Ceylon Cinnamon or True Cinnamon is an indigenous variety from Sri Lanka. The presence of low coumarin compared to Cassia is what that makes this variety the most sought after one. This premium quality organically grown ceylon cinnamon quills are sourced from the selected homesteads of Negambo coast.

- True Ceylon Cinnamon can be easily identified; its bark is thin, and in nice texture to roll around. It has a light brown or tan brown colour. It is easy to break into pieces. The quills are soft and delicate. The fragrance is soft delicate. Each quill is hand-rolled and graded. Safe for regular use due to the presence of a naturally occurring blood thinning agent called Coumarin’s content is less than 0.0004%.
- This is not cassia cinnamon or Chinese cinnamon. Cassia is a hot, spicy and pungent flavour. It is dark red in colour. It is in hard form, difficult to break into pieces. It is single-layered. For your information; we are an ethical and sustainable brand, so we don’t promote, sell or support hazardous cassia in any form.
- Ethically sourced: Our imported Ceylon Cinnamon is sourced from small and marginal farmers’ collective in Sri Lanka through sustainable and good agricultural practices. Current batch is sourced from the organic and fair trade farmer’s networks.
How to store spices whole and powders
As all our whole spices and spice powders are free of any kind of preservatives chances are there for them to catch white patches or fungus if exposed to even a little bit of moisture. Here are some tips to store them fresh longer.
- Always keep the products in an airtight jar away from moisture.
- You can transfer a little from the pack to a small airtight jar and can keep the rest in refrigerator.
- You can transfer the product into a clean paper or (muram) in direct sunlight for half an hour and put them back in container.
- Buy according to your usage. There are products available in 50g, 100g and 500g packs.
- Sautee the spices in a pan on low flame just before putting them to curry so as to get nice aroma
